Coming straight outta of the Mentally Ill Movements camp from Brooklyn, New York is Johnny Killa. Johnny - embodying the quiet, charismatic thug from Brooklyn and Killa-embodying "Get Right or Be Left " swagger. Johnny Killa is a selector that came up under the wing and guidance of Tony Matterhorn. Unlike his mentor Killa is not much for long arguments, but his simplistic flow has consistently frustrated critics who value lyrical slick mic talk over selecting complexity. Although Matterhorn had gone solo, Killa was recruited and one hand washed the other. No longer holding it down as a solo selector - with long awaited return of Mentally Ill's founder - Tony Matterhorn to the United States, the dancehall masses in the U.S. markets long awaited his return. The critics have also compared Matterhorns return to that of a reggae icon or dancehall royalty. Naturally, Matterhorn and Killa have thrown it down at venues throughout the 50 states, the Great Walls of China to the streets of Buckingham Palace. Johnny Killa emobodies a new flavor to the genre of upcoming selectors that are under the radar. Killa is mainly a juggling selector, but dont sleep on him, he has specials on dubs and we are not speaking of the ones on his truck! Inventive styles and refreshing spins score the most points for Johnny Killa!
