Our little babies

Lola's cut and stiches from her surgery

Joseph and I's little cocker spaniel puppy, Lola just was spayed (not sure about the spelling) yesterday and she is acting sooooo pitiful. She naturaly gets excited about everything, but it hurts her so bad to get excited that she is whining and wagging her tail all at the same time.

We are so protective over her b/c we lost our chocolate and white cocker spaniel, Fergie about 3 months ago. She was only 4 1/2 months old and we tragically lost her in a car accident at the lake. I have to say, it may sound dumb, but it was one of the hardest few months of my life, next to my dad dying in August of 2004. The day we had to come home without her was the worst. We walked into our laundry room where she slept and we just lost it. We ended up driving around town for about 4 hours crying and laughing as we told stories from her short little life. She was our little child and we truly fell head over heals in love with her in such a short amount of time. We fell like she was an angel that entered our lives for a short amount of time and taught us how much animals can impact people's lives and what a great addition to a family they are.
It was difficult for us to get a new dog, but I just really missed having an animal in the house. The day we went to get Lola was a very bittersweet day. Joseph was okay with everything until we got all the way to BFE to get her and he just froze up. He wouldnt even have anything to do with any of the dogs. I just bonded with Lola and knew I had to have her. Joseph felt so bad, kinda like he was cheating on Fergie, but he has had time to adjust and he is so in love with Lola now.
Here are some pics of Fergie and Lola.
